Why you would want to duplicate WordPress menu?
There could be many reasons for this. You wish to test changes to your current menu before making them live on the site, you wish to create a new menu but also keep the old version for reverting back, you want to delete the existing menu but don’t wish to create a new menu from scratch or it could be some other reason.
Whatever your reason, just follow these steps to duplicate your WordPress menu:
- Install and activate the Duplicate Menu plugin
- Navigate to Duplicate Menu under Appearance
- Select the menu you want to duplicate

Install and activate the Duplicate Menu plugin
The first step is to install and activate the Duplicate Menu WordPress plugin. This plugin makes the process of duplicating WordPress menus a breeze.
Navigate to Duplicate Menu under Appearance
Once you have activated the Duplicate Menu plugin, navigate to the Duplicate Menu settings under Appearance tab on the left.
Select the menu you want to duplicate
In the Duplicate Menu dashboard, select the menu you wish to duplicate from the dropdown.
Once you have selected the menu for duplication, give it a name like “Secondary menu” or any other name.
Now click the Duplicate Menu button. That’s it, you have just created a duplicate menu in WordPress in 3 easy steps.
To edit this duplicate menu, navigate to Menus under the Appearance tab on the left.
All your WordPress menus are listed here. Select the duplicate menu you just created from the dropdown. In this example, we will select the “Secondary menu” that we just created.
